Working in small groups, the students took turns using a toothbrush to 'dig' for dinosaur eggs (Skittles.) The egg was then placed in a cup (nest), three per nest, and the color was recorded by all participants on their own record sheets. When all seven cups had three eggs each, it was discovered that seven cups with three eggs each is twenty-one eggs all together! Or: 7 x 3 = 21. Clean Skittles were then enjoyed by all. |
