We had a great pre-Thanksgiving week, making Pilgrim hats and Native American headbands, researching and presenting in small groups on Thanksgiving topics like cornucopia, Plymouth, Mayflower, feast, and clothing of the Pilgrims. We cleaned, steamed, peeled, and mashed 6 cooking pumpkins on Monday, then mixed that with milk, sugar, eggs, and spices (thanks so much to those who sent ingredients) and made pumpkin pudding. This was shared with all of second grade, who shared dressing, fruit salad, and cookies that looked like turkeys. It made for a wonderful feast! Thanks also to those who sent plates and napkins.
Thank you so much to those who sent party treats, take-home treats, or came to help with the party! We had a great time!
