We had a classroom full of characters in costumes! Check out the slide show below for some great pictures of the kiddos! What a great looking group! We had so much fun playing Bingo with Mrs. Mathenia and Mrs. Buller! We even go MUSTACHES in our goodie bags! (Are you starting to see an obsession?)

Lately we have had some issues on what needs to be reported to a teacher and what is considered "tattling." So I brought in some reinforcement! Mrs. Amy Buller, our school social worker, came and taught us a lesson on tattling. She read a funny book to the class that taught us some very important rules. They are as follows: Rule # 1: Be a “Danger Ranger” - If a person or animal is in danger, you must warn someone! Rule # 2: Be a Problem Solver - If a problem involves YOU directly, take charge and try hard to solve it yourself. Rule # 3: Now or Later - Is your problem a “NOW” problem or a “NOT NOW” problem? Can your problem be solved at a later time? Rule # 4: M.Y.O.B. - If your problem is not dangerous and it does not involve you…Do Not Tattle! We were so lucky this week! Seventh graders from Emge came to our classroom to teach us a lesson on scarecrows. We even did an art project after the lesson! Some of us knew students from siblings, while others live by our houses. We had a blast! Check out the pictures below! As an end of the year gift last year, our social worker gave me this AMAZING shirt that says, "Please raise your hand if you 'mustache' a question." I always get a kick out of wearing it to school! The first day I wore this shirt to school this year, Marlon comes in claiming he had something grow on his face over night! Naturally, we had to take advantage of this photo opportunity!
We work hard every day to earn a smiley face for the end of the day. This means we stay on task, complete all work, and stay out of trouble! When we earned 10 smiley face days in a row, we receive an extra 15 minute recess as a reward! We are proud of this accomplishment! Not only was today a special day because we earned an extra recess, but we also earned 20 compliments from our compliments chart! A compliment can come from any adult in the building and must be directed towards the whole class. For our reward, we earned donuts! Check out the pictures of our donut party below!
As a part of our Social Studies Government Unit, we studied the voting process. To put this process to use in the classroom, the students had to design a classroom flag that represents our class. Once the flags were turned in, we voted! Each child had to fill out an identification card and voting registration in order to vote. Congratulations to Emma! Her flag had the most votes! You can find her flag above our classroom door, where it will remain the rest of the year!
